Geotechnical Project Manager

YU & Associates is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager in our Elmwood Park, New Jersey Office.

You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing projects, establishing techniques and standards for analysis and design, coordinating with senior management, performing calculations, and training staff. The candidate will manage within a multidisciplinary environment and review and certify staff work, oversee performance, manage billings, and maintain strong billability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform and oversee engineering calculations and design drawings related to geotechnical work.
Focus on public/private development with regulatory permitting expertise in NJ and PA.
Supervise and review the work of others.
Prepare proposals for professional services.
Perform geotechnical inspections, site reconnaissance, soil borings, and field investigations.
Review contracts to determine parameters, schedules, and major tasks.
Coordinate project turnover to clients and serve as the primary contact.
Plan and develop project scope, procedures, and budgets.
Ensure contractual commitments and work quality according to client instructions.
Maintain relationships with all project-related departments.
Control project forecasts, schedules, costs, and reports; ensure quality control.
Monitor fees and budgets; report issues to management.
Address health & safety concerns on projects.
Work with accounting to keep billings and receipts accurate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. with geotechnical specialty.
Registered Professional Engineer in NJ and/or NY.
10+ years of regional geotechnical experience.
Ability to develop clients and grow a business.
Mentor talent and manage projects from start to finish.
Leadership, decision-making skills, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Knowledge of geotechnical software and a valid driver’s license.
Ability to foster a culture of excellence and high ethics.
