Job Overview:
Public House Temecula in Temecula, CA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to join our team. As the General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing and supporting the overall operations of our restaurant. This is a leadership position that requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily restaurant operations.
- Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising all staff members, including hostesses and servers.
- Ability to motivate and manage staff, set goals, and make critical decisions to ensure the efficient operation of the restaurant.
- Providing guidance and support to staff as needed.
- Skill to effectively communicate with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory control and ordering to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Handle customer inquiries, as well as complaints, and resolve any issues promptly.
- Schedule shifts to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for new team members.
- Develop strategies for improving restaurant performance.
- Assist in implementing marketing initiatives to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
- Monitor financial performance metrics and prepare regular reports for ownership, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to achieve financial goals.
- Prepare detailed notes for weekly staff meetings that are available to ownership online.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- A strong understanding and knowledge of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service standards, ordering, and inventory management,
- Solid understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, and revenue generation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and composed under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Positive attitude and ethics which support our values and culture.
- Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused workplace.
- Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize.
- Thorough knowledge of POS and Toast software systems.
Skills:
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proficient in inventory control and managing food costs.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive dining experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors.
- Experience in shift management and scheduling.
- Passion for the restaurant industry and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
- Experience conducting interviews and making hiring decisions.
- Must be able to address issues quickly and effectively, whether it's a customer complaint, a staffing issue, or kitchen -related.
- Menu development and planning are a plus!
