The Flagler Museum is seeking a courteous, dependable, and enthusiastic Retail Associate to join our Museum Store team. This position plays a vital role in providing a welcoming and knowledgeable shopping experience for our guests, supporting the museum's educational mission and revenue goals through retail sales.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide product knowledge and promote store merchandise, including museum publications, souvenirs, and locally crafted items.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Restock and merchandise inventory to maintain store appearance.
  • Assist with inventory control, including receiving and tagging merchandise.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, displays, and storage areas.
  • Support museum events and special promotions as needed.
  • Stay informed about the Museums exhibitions, programs, and history to better assist visitors.
  • Follow all museum policies and procedures, including those related to security and visitor conduct.
Qualifications:


  • Prior retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be available to work every Saturday.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • An appreciation for art, history, and cultural institutions is a plus.
Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable with occasional bending, reaching, and walking throughout the Museum store.
