Role Summary: Che Figata Line Cooks receive training on multiple stations within our open Italian kitchen. They are responsible for daily preparation of the restaurant's menu items for our guests. In addition, they will assist with daily prep work ensuring food is executed according to standards in a timely manner. Responsibilities:
Capable of working a minimum of 2 stations in our kitchen proficiently at any given time.
Assist cooks 1 and 3 in the preparation of foods according to guests' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
Trains and supervises Cooks 3 in the preparation of food.
Preps food for service in accordance with established standardized recipes.
Sets up station and ensures that the work area is operated in an efficient manner.
Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by management.
Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
Responsible for ensuring prep board is cleared by end of shift.
Properly stores food in designated containers and areas according to health department guidelines.
Informs supervisor of any kitchen equipment or machinery that is not working properly.
Capable of completing any prep task quickly and efficiently.
Assists in the cleaning, sanitation and organization kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
Follows all Che Figata departmental policies and procedures.
Performs all related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent education. Culinary degree or pursuit of degree from a recognized culinary institute; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Three or more years' experience as a line cook preferred. Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures. Illinois food handlers certificate required. 1 Year of upscale Italian food production preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Must have a neat and clean appearance and uniform.
