Average Hours: 38 hours per week Starting Wage: $26.50 per hour Wage Increase: Year 2 - $27.50 per hour Duties and Responsibilities Assists the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports Identifies training and development opportunities to enhance direct reports’ performance Supports the company strategy and models core values to foster teamwork Monitors the competitive environment and informs leadership of necessary adjustments Provides product feedback and makes recommendations on items to carry or discontinue Participates in interviewing for store personnel Communicates information including weekly updates, milestones, developments, and concerns Ensures adherence to inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies to minimize losses Resolves operational customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader Identifies and rectifies hazards, maintains equipment, and ensures proper ergonomics Maintains store cleanliness and proper signage Assists with stock levels through product ordering and merchandising Ensures quality, freshness, and accurate signage of products Assists with payroll, loss prevention, inventory counts, and training of new employees Supervises day-to-day team operations and escalates issues as needed Ensures direct reports complete responsibilities timely to provide high-level customer service Complies with company policies and maintains data security and confidentiality Other duties as assigned Physical Demands Stocking merchandise from receiving to shelving; capable of placing items weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations Job Qualifications You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI Ability to work independently and in a team Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service Ability to develop rapport and open communication with direct reports Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures Ability to set goals and guide performance Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others Understanding of budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses Ability to operate a cash register accurately Ability to safely operate equipment and perform cleaning duties to company standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail Meets state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred Benefits ALDI offers competitive wages and benefits, including: 401(k) Plan Company 401(k) Matching Contributions Employee Assistance Program (EAP) PerkSpot National Discount Program Additional Benefits Medical, Prescription, Dental & Vision Insurance Generous Vacation Time & 7 Paid Holidays Up to 6 Weeks Paid Parental Leave at 100% of pay Up to 2 Weeks Paid Caregiver Leave at 100% of pay Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance Life, Dependent Life and AD&D Insurance Voluntary Term Life Insurance Equal Opportunity ALDI is committed to equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
