The Chattahoochee Valley Libraries is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Bookmobile Specialist to serve residents of Chattahoochee, Marion, and Stewart Counties. This position involves driving and operating one of CVL's Bookmobiles to provide outreach services, technology access, and library programs to customers who cannot visit a library branch.
Bookmobile Specialists visit a wide range of community partners to promote library services, materials, and resources. The ideal candidate is passionate about public service, has an excellent driving record (experience with large vehicles is a plus, some training provided), and works independently in fast-paced settings with people of all ages.
This position requires excellent technology skills and will collaborate with schools, daycares, senior centers, and other community organizations, as well as coordinating with the CVL Outreach department. Bookmobile Specialists also actively participate in special community events, including festivals, school fairs, and other public programs, where they represent CVL and engage with attendees to promote literacy and library offerings. Evening and weekend hours are occasionally required for these events.
Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, tire pressure) is helpful. Candidates must be responsible, dependable, and effective communicators with staff, supervisors, and the public.
Salary: $37,673/year
