*The Role*
*The MVP is built. You’re joining at the inflection point between working product and market scale. You’ll take a functional multi-app platform and harden it for production, ship the features that drive growth, and build out the engineering practices that don’t exist yet—starting with testing.*
*You’ll be the first engineering hire, working directly with the founder. No layers, no PMs, no sprint ceremonies. Conversation to code to production—that’s the workflow.*
*What You’ll Do*
Ship features end-to-end across multiple applications—from UI to database schema to access control.
Harden the existing MVP for production scale: performance, error handling, edge cases, security.
Build the test suite from scratch. There’s no test infrastructure today. You’ll design the strategy and implement it.
Own deployment and production health. Add monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD rigor to an existing auto-deploy pipeline.
Build third-party integrations as the platform expands its partner ecosystem.
Work in Claude Code as your primary development environment. The entire MVP was built with it. AI-assisted development is how we work, not a side experiment.
*What We’re Looking For*
*Proven Production Experience*
5+ years of professional software development experience, with meaningful time spent on production systems.
You’ve been the primary technical owner of a production application—you’ve dealt with outages, navigated technical debt, and shipped software that real customers depend on.
*Product-Minded Engineering*
You think in user problems and business outcomes, not just tickets.
You can translate a conversation with the founder into a shipped feature without needing a spec document.
You understand that in a marketplace, every feature has to earn its place by driving supply, demand, or trust.
*Rapid Building & Shipping*
Comfortable going from idea to production in hours when the situation calls for it.
You ship iteratively—meaningful commits regularly, not big-bang releases.
Claude Code is a core part of our workflow. If AI-assisted development as your primary mode of working excites you, you’ll fit right in.
*Full-Stack Ownership*
Strong with modern React. Comfortable across the full vertical: UI, API, database, auth, and deployment.
Experience with or strong willingness to learn Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth, Row Level Security, Realtime).
Able to own everything from a button on the frontend to the security policy on the database table behind it. No one else is picking up the pieces.
Nice-to-have: React Native or mobile app experience. The near-term platform is mobile web, but as we scale, having someone who can step into native mobile development is a meaningful asset.

*This is not a role for someone who needs a large engineering team, detailed specs, or a two-week sprint cycle before anything ships. It’s a role for a strong engineer who uses AI tooling to move faster—not someone who leans on it to compensate for experience. The core work here—test strategy, security hardening, production monitoring, system design—is deeply traditional engineering. We need someone who’s done that work before and knows how to apply AI to accelerate it. And it’s not purely greenfield—a meaningful part of this job is hardening what exists, building test coverage from zero, and keeping the platform stable as real users hit it.*
