Scope of Position The Food Runner at Calypso's Pool Bar & Grille is primary responsible for delivering prompt, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service in a hotel environment, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail. The role involves close collaboration with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all guests.

Requirements Previous experience as a food runner, server, or in a hospitality role is preferred. Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely food delivery. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS systems). A food handling certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment. A TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certificate must be completed within the first 90 days of employment. Must be of minimum legal age to serve alcohol according to state law.

Responsibilities Greet (using names) and acknowledge each guest promptly after seating with hotel greeting standards. Interact with guests in a friendly and upbeat manner, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any inquiries they may have about the menu. Work collaboratively with the kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders to ensure seamless and coordinated dining experience for our guests. Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all menu items and specials. Knowledge of restaurant layout and location of all equipment and supplies. Ensure table settings are fully equipped with the appropriate condiments. Ensure special requests and dietary restrictions are accommodated. Handle any additional requests from guests promptly. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards and maintain a clean and organized workspace with an understanding of proper food handling. Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Education High school diploma or GED

Skills & Abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus. Ability to perform proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques, and use of equipment/machinery. Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds. Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
