Job Description
Job Summary:
This at-will position is being hired to support a specific client project. While this role is a full-time position with Falcon's Creative Group, employment will not extend beyond the duration of the project. The assignment will conclude once the project is completed, at which time employment with Falcon's Creative Group will end. The expected project timeline is to be determined. For avoidance of doubt, employment with Falcon’s would be at-will at all times, meaning that the employee or Falcon’s may terminate the employment at any time (including prior to the conclusion of the project).
As a creative and technically proficient F&B/retail designer, you will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and development of unique food & beverage and merchandise locations within large-scale theme parks, resorts, and entertainment district projects. You will work to seamlessly integrate these commercial spaces into the overarching narrative and environment of a themed land, ensuring every guest interaction is memorable, immersive, and operationally efficient.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in interior design or architecture, a passion for storytelling through space, and a deep understanding of how to balance creative vision with the functional demands of high-volume commercial operations.
Essential Functions:
- Conceptual Design & Storytelling:
- Collaborate with creative directors, writers, and concept artists to develop unique narratives and design concepts for F&B and retail venues that align with the master plan of the themed land.
- Provide sketches to inform illustrators of creative design intent.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall project objectives, budget constraints, and technical feasibility.
- Schematic Design & Spatial Planning
- Develop detailed floor plans, seating layouts, and merchandise fixture plans that optimize guest flow, maximize capacity, and adhere to operational requirements (e.g., kitchen adjacencies, back-of-house support, POS locations).
- Provide design iterations and development during the schematic phase, ensuring alignment with the established design vision.
- Provide detailed development of drawings and details during the Design Development phase, ensuring alignment with the established design vision.
- 3D Visualization:
- Create compelling design presentations through sketches, mood boards, 3D models (Rhino, Revit, etc.), and render views to communicate design intent to internal teams and clients.
- Design Development & Technical Documentation:
- Select and specify all materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) that support the design narrative while meeting the rigorous durability standards of a theme park environment.
- Produce detailed design development drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details for coordination with architectural and engineering partners.
- Collaboration:
- Work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary project team, including architects, landscape architects, graphic designers, lighting designers, and show set designers to ensure a cohesive final product.
- Collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and contractors to bring design concepts to fruition.
- Code Compliance:
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of relevant building codes, including IBC and ADA accessibility standards. Apply these codes and standards throughout the design process.
- Trends and Innovation:
- Stay current with trends in themed entertainment, restaurant and retail design, materials, and guest experiences to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
- Integrate cutting-edge design elements to enhance the guest experience and maintain the organization's competitive edge.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
