At least 23 years of hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen (restaurant, catering, or institutional setting). You will be expected to hit the ground running and training WILL NOT BE PROVIDED Position Summary: Were seeking dependable and skilled Experienced Line Cooks to join the culinary team at The Greek Theatre. In this high-volume, fast-paced environment, youll prepare quality meals for guests attending concerts and special events.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold menu items according to recipes and production standards
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (grill, fryers, ovens, steamers, etc.) Set up, stock, and maintain assigned stations before and during service Ensure all food meets quality, portion, and presentation standards Practice proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety at all times Assist with prep work, restocking, and cleaning Collaborate with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during events We build out and break down our outdoor kitchen everyday entailing moving grills and refrigeration low boys, setting up umbrellas and lighting. You will be assisting Chef Sam and Chef Sean with both set up and break down. You will also be responsible to help clean up workstation and clean up BOH area in the stand Requirements: 3-5+ years of professional kitchen experience (event, stadium, or high-volume preferred)
Strong knowledge of food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures Ability to follow recipes and plating guides consistently Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs ***General Requirements*** Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. General responsibilities when working a Cook job assignment can include: Cook food items according to recipes and food production standards Ensure food is safely prepared and at the proper temperature for consumption Keep cooking station clean and orderly during shift Comply with all sanitation and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment Safely use and operate cooking appliances and utensils Provide friendly and helpful customer service for guests as needed Assist in ordering and receiving food products for the kitchen as needed Work in a busy environment and standing for long periods of time
