Overview
Position Summary The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director, ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, discretion, and a deep respect for Indigenous cultures and communities. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating travel arrangements. Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as required. Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including email, phone calls, and mail. Coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, including logistics and arrangements. Maintain confidential information with the utmost discretion. Manage office operations, including office supplies, equipment, and facilities. Assist with financial management tasks as needed, such as expense reports and budget tracking. Represent the organization professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, donors, and partners. Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive relationships with Indigenous communities. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or similar role. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Discretion and ability to handle confidential information. Interest in and respect for Indigenous cultures. Position will be exposed to multiple allergens including cedar and wool (sheep and mountain goat).
Must be willing to travel to local and regional events via plane, car, ferry, etc. as needed
Needs a valid AK driver's license
Knowledge of Lingit preferred. Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization. Experience with database management systems. Knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices The salary for this position is $60,000 + DOE
