The Event & Race Assistant at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) is a key member in managing and operating the Whitewater events and races. This role is responsible for planning event logistics, executing event operations and facilitating public programming. The position will also assist with various operational tasks that are essential to successfully executing Whitewater events and races. The Event & Race Assistant is an on-site, part-time, hourly role and reports to the Event & Race Coordinator. Responsibilities Manage the race registration process for all Whitewater Race Series productions. Work with the Event & Race team to update and design course maps Aid with registration, packet pick-up, race start/finish actions, aid stations set up and removal, and awards presentations at races. Assist with operational tasks such as course marking, inventory management and guest communication Facilitating programs such as festivals, races, pond hockey, Adventure Dining, yoga workshops and youth programming. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Able to work well under pressure and make decisions independently. Outgoing, friendly, and confident with exceptional communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed. Available to work 10-20 hours per week
Physical Demands Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time in all weather and environmental conditions. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time. Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space. Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers. All positions at Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.
