Two (2) part-time vacancies at our Milwaukee Downtown Campus. Working up to 19 hours per week, hours vary based on departmental needs.
Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, provides individualized or group related learning support to students in the Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene Programs. Assists in the Learning process by providing professional services for the Dental Hygiene Clinic. Work is generally diversified based on the needs of the clinic both in the clinical area and clerical area. Judgment and analysis are required in making decisions within established procedures. Daily responsibilities are completed independently using established policies and general objectives with occasional supervisory contact for policy clarification or interpretation.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine dental clinic maintenance according to an established schedule.
Sterilizes instruments in accordance with OSHA standards.
Manages inventory of the dental supplies for the Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene Programs.
Prepares dental equipment for clinic use.
Manages front desk procedures related to patient check-in.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Encourages learning and study skill behaviors that help students to accomplish their academic goals.
Diagnoses learning behaviors, develops strategies and anticipates learning outcomes to help students accomplish their academic goals; determines and schedules appropriate support and or tutoring methods for students.
Provides tutoring assistance for specific academic skills and subjects, consistent with classroom instruction and in conjunction with faculty instruction if needed.
Coordinates and administers makeup test proctoring services for MATC students.
Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of center and other spaces assigned; establishes and enforces regulations related to center and the equipment used; manages inventory of supplies and equipment; creates purchase orders for needed equipment and supplies.
Assists students by providing problem resolution with computers; class issues; software applications including Blackboard, Microsoft Office Suite programs; class schedules; financial aid applications; homework that uses web-based platforms; computer support equipment; and audio/visual systems.
Updates inventory and other data; prepares relevant reports, study guides and reference materials.
Assists with district-wide recruitment, interviewing, application, hiring, and training of tutors.
Assists with developing and maintaining files, databases, and progress records; prepares reports as required or assigned.
Acts as a liaison between students and faculty.
Provides general information about MATC including relevant wrap around services and resources; refers students to other departments or services to meet their educational needs.
Participates in related in-service training, workshops, divisional meetings, and other educational activities as required.
Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the division.
Qualifications
Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum Education: Associate degree or higher in a comparable field preferred.
Required Minimum Experience: At least two (2) years of comparable experience - training as a dental assistant.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree or higher in related field and with at least three (3) or more years of comparable experience.

Supplemental Information
Start Date: This position supports the Healthcare Pathway and is available to start immediately.
Hours: 43 week position, working up to 19 hours weekly, in-person, primarily based out of the Downtown Campus. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours, Monday - Friday. Hours vary based on departmental needs. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin, performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.

Employee Benefits at a Glance - PART-TIME FACULTY/EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT- Part-time employees pay a higher percentage of the premium than full-time employees.
HEALTH INSURANCE: MATC offers a choice between two medical insurance plans. See below for plan types:
1- UMR High Level PPO
2- UMR Low Level PPO
Note : All medical plans include Prescription Drug benefits at no additional costs to employees.
DENTAL INSURANCE: MATC offers a traditional group dental plan through Delta Dental.
Annual maximum per covered person is $2,500; plan covers preventive, routine, restoration, and orthodontics for dependents up to age 19.
GROUP TERM LIFE INSURANCE: MATC offers group life insurance benefits through Symetra Provident Insurance with active assignment and is fully paid for by the College. The amount of insurance is $15,000. The benefit is doubled in the event of accidental death.
RETIREMENT BENEFITS: If you are employed for greater than 12 months and meet the minimum hours requirement for participation in the WRS pension system, you will be notified of your eligibility. The College currently pays the full cost of the employer contribution (6.9%), and the employee pays the full part of the employee contribution of 6.9% of salary. There is a five year vesting period requirement in order to qualify for any employer contributions made on the employee's behalf.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLANS: MATC offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in both Health Care and Dependent Care flexible spending accounts administered through UMR.
SICK LEAVE BENEFITS: Sick leave is earned based on one times the weekly workload per semester. The maximum hours accumulation is 640 hours.
VACATION BENEFITS: Vacation is earned based on the length of service and hours worked each pay period. (Not available for Instructors)
PAID HOLIDAYS: MATC offers paid/flex holidays based on position.
