Primary Purpose:
Part-time, year-round program to provide a hands-on, immersive experience within the Merchandise Distribution Center, maintaining inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall retail execution. You will gain daily retail system exposure, utilize RFID technology and fundamental inventory management principles that will enhance your organization, teammate and communication skills. This role also encompasses a variety of growth and development opportunities extending beyond daily responsibilities.
Speaker Series
featuring executives and managers from different departments within the organization, sharing insights into their professional journeys.
Game Day Shadows / Informational Interviews
providing an opportunity to observe and understand the day-to-day activities of various professionals.
Mock Interview / Resume Workshops
conducted by hiring managers and HR department members to enhance interview and resume-building skills.
Cross Training
with the Retail team for a hands-on experience in the retail world from a different perspective.
This opportunity may meet the requirements for college internship credit. Candidates interested in pursuing academic credit are encouraged to discuss this option during the interview process.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Receiving & Put-Away
Support docking and organized sorting of incoming purchase orders and transfers
Ensure purchase receipts are promptly attached to all purchase orders
Process purchase orders in the order of "first in
first out" and priority orders
Count, ticket, fold and validate merchandise with RFID ticketing standards
Maintain accurate documentation of purchase receipts, vendor packing slips and filing paperwork
Capture and map all photos of all new and current merchandise
Bin Management & Inventory
Perform monthly cycle counts and year-end inventory with accuracy
Audit bin locations for accurate and effective space utilization
Complete markdowns retagging for clearance items
Distribution
Properly pick and pack merchandise, supplies, and non-retail items
Process and ship all send sales orders daily
Ensure product packing support visual merchandising standards
Communicate department needs to management
Operations & Training
Maintain facility cleanliness
Communicate safety concerns or enhancements to management
Maintain high level of attention to detail to operational standards for inventory accuracy, bin organization and RFID compliance.
Participate in quarterly employee one on ones to discuss process improvements, training and development opportunities.
Additional daily tasks per the delegation of DC management
Role Requirements:
Prior retail experience strongly preferred
Previous exposure to warehouse or inventory preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both co-workers and guests
Capability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, lift, and transport items
Must be at least 16 years old
Availability Requirements:
Required to be available to work 100% jewel events (Opening Day, Postseason, All-Star, etc.) home baseball games
Required to work irregular hours as the business dictates
Occasional game-day duties as dictate by job responsibilities and workload
Organizational Requirements:
Demonstrates the ability to read, speak, comprehend, and communicate effectively in order to perform job duties and interact with coworkers.
Represents the Cleveland Guardians in a positive fashion to all business partners, teammates, and the general public.
Ability to build robust, professional relationships with teammates by demonstrating interpersonal skills, approachability, and a collaborative spirit contributing to a positive, respectful work environment.
Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the role as outlined in the job description, which may include extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, or navigating a multilevel ballpark.
Adapts quickly and effectively to a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse work environment.
Ability to act according to the organizational values and service excellence at all times.
Willingness to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends.
Willingness to adhere to all Major League Baseball and Club policies.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $14.30. This rate serves as a general guideline; actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
