Director of Retail Banking

The Director of Retail Banking is a hands-on leader responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of Retail Operations. This position will develop and execute the strategic plan and drive the Bank's continued asset growth while managing day-today bank sales and service levels. The Director must be creative in their retail sales approach to each banking branch and can drive a consistent service and sales theme throughout the entire branch infrastructure. The Director is charged with the creation and maintenance of a proactive sales environment with strong accountability for sales growth, managing budgets, and fostering a strong retail team. All service and sales activity must provide for the highest levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and referral business. In short, the Director will maintain overall responsibility for all aspects of the financial institution's retail network, including the implementation of strategies and establishment of goals to achieve growth, profit, operational efficiency and customer service objectives.
Specific Job Functions:
* Responsible for development of Retail Strategic Planning and execution in a definitive and measurable manner by creating, communicating, and executing strategy for Retail Sales and growth. * Promotes and drives the established sales goals across all business lines. For lending, this would include all consumer and commercial and would require the Director to leverage and partner with the appropriate leaders from commercial, consumer and residential lines of business. * Enhances profitability of Retail customer relationships and ensures customer satisfaction. * Establishes meaningful new business sales goals that are focused on expanding the number of profitable relationships per Manager and per branch. * Supports the goal-oriented monetary Retail Incentive Program to target market growth with effective communication and transparency, ongoing support and recognition, defined business objectives and diverse and appealing incentives. * Develops and implements strategies for the delivery of quality and effective customer service through the branches and other delivery channels, ensuring effective delivery of sales and service training programs, and the appropriate product mix needed to develop market potential. * Analyze and refine existing product line competitiveness within the market. * Develop and implement new products and services to enhance the bank's competitive position within the market. * Seek and develop new delivery channels for the bank's products and services that would include new branch locations, digital and virtual options. * Maximizes non-interest income through sales activities, product penetration and collection of fees. * Implements performance evaluation tools and resources to assess individual and branch sales goals; monitors sales results; coach branches in sales management to achieve results. * Monitors results and prepares and distributes a variety of statistical and performance reports. Initiates change to achieve desired results. * Coordinates, manages, and influences the annual budget process which covers all branch expenses and Retail sales goals. * Influence operational policies and procedures to maximize efficiency with a balance toward quality of work and to provide the highest level of quality service and experience to customers. * Achieve and continue profitability, growth objectives and efficient branch operation. * Analyze customer traffic and demographics to best match resources to opportunities. * Responsible for maintaining an effective and quality staff who can deliver results consistent with the Bank's Strategic Plan, Core Values, Mission Statement, Founding Truths, and Standards. * Responsible for developing the professional and technical skills of staff. * Champions employee development to accomplish succession planning within the retail sector. * Responsible for being compliant with all regulations and compliance requirements pertaining to job function. * Perform such other duties as may be assigned or requested.
