Position Overview: We prioritize the safety of our associates! As a Diesel Technician - Class B, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling our fleet diesel equipment to ensure optimal safety for your fellow associates and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and converter dollies with minimal supervision. Conduct standard component inspections and repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units). Identify root causes of basic issues and execute repairs as necessary. Ensure all equipment has required licensing and registration before being deemed roadworthy. Document work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through our online Enterprise Asset Management system. Install, replace, and repair onboard computer systems. Inspect critical systems like brakes, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings to confirm their proper operating conditions, which may require the replacement of parts. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating machinery using tools like screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and power tools including pneumatic wrenches and welding equipment. Provide training and guidance to junior Mechanics. Carry out additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent. 3 - 5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, covering PM's, tire & wheel work, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience.
