Dental Surgical Assistant / Front Desk Reception Oral & Facial Surgery Center

Established oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with a reputation for excellence in patient care is currently seeking a full-time surgical/dental assistant (30-40 hrs/week) that would also staff the front desk reception desk. We are looking for a motivated, honest, and dependable individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others as part of the patient care team.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 4 days per week with Friday rotations *Must be available to travel to both locations (Joplin, MO & Pittsburg, KS)*

Responsibilities

Surgical Assistant duties include:

chairside assisting during oral surgical procedures; monitoring, recovery, and discharge of surgical patients under the guidance of doctors and nursing staff; preparation of rooms and instruments preoperatively and room turnover postoperatively; instrument cleaning and sterilization; taking dental x-rays; preparing patients for surgery, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and providing postoperative education; taking impressions; and equipment maintenance.

Front desk reception duties include:

greeting patients and making an excellent first impression; managing the front desk area and ensuring a clean and organized environment; answering the telephone and properly scheduling appointments, answering questions, forwarding calls appropriately, and taking messages; checking, sorting, and managing email communications; entering and scanning information into patients’ electronic medical records; maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations; sorting and managing incoming and outgoing mail; and communicating effectively with referring offices for the coordination of patient care.

Any other duties as assigned or necessary may also be required.

Qualifications

The salary range for this role is $18-$22 per hour based on full-time employment.
