· Physical Inventory Counts:

Regularly conduct cycle counts of lumber and building materials throughout the yard, comparing physical stock to computer inventory records and identifying discrepancies, relay correct inventory information to purchasing department.

· Data Entry:

Accurately input inventory data into the company's management system, including product codes, purchase orders, invoices, quantities received, stock locations, and any relevant details from delivery receipts.

· Receiving and Processing Shipments:

Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, checking for quantity accuracy and product condition, and updating inventory records accordingly.

· Stock Location Management:

Maintain organized stock placement within the lumber yard, assigning and updating product locations in the system for efficient retrieval.

· Inventory Discrepancy Investigation:

Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during inventory checks, identifying root causes and taking corrective actions.

· Reporting and Analysis:

Generate inventory reports highlighting stock levels, low-stock items, and potential issues to inform purchasing decisions.

· Quality Control:

Check for damaged or defective lumber during receiving and inventory checks, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements:

· Attention to Detail:

High level of accuracy in data entry and inventory counting to maintain precise records.

· Computer Proficiency:

Familiarity with inventory management systems and proficiency in data entry applications.

· Basic Math Skills:

Ability to calculate quantities, reconcile discrepancies, and perform basic inventory calculations.

· Physical Ability:

Comfortable working outdoors in a lumber yard environment, including lifting and moving lumber.

· Organizational Skills:

Efficiently managing inventory data and maintaining a well-organized stock area.

· Communication Skills:

Effective communication with warehouse staff, sales team, and suppliers regarding inventory status and discrepancies.
