EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Experience in outside sales, retail sales, marketing desirable. o Experience with computer software desirable. o Knowledge of personal lines insurance products desirable.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES
Ability to learn and apply product, industry and market knowledge to make professional recommendations to prospects and policyholders and to satisfy insurance licensing requirements. o Ability to influence others. o Ability to create professional business relationships with prospects and policyholders. o Strong listening, oral and written communication skills. o Ability to take initiative and act effectively in various circumstances without direction. o Self-confidence/perseverance/strong work ethic: remain positive and maintain progress towards a goal in spite of obstacles and adversity. o Goal oriented: highly motivated and resourceful to achieve results. o Proven track record of trustworthiness, dependability and ethical behavior. o Proven problem solving ability: apply and balance conceptual and analytical thinking by breaking down complex problems, evaluating alternative sources of action and their likely outcomes, and selecting the best alternative. o Ability to organize and act on several activities concurrently.
JOB RELATED TRAINING COURSES, LICENSING AND PROGRAMS
Successfully complete all company, state and federal requirements (licenses) to sell and service designated State Farm products and continue to be licensed in good standing is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement the agencys marketing/sales plan and direct mail campaigns at direction of the agent. o Work from the agents office to contact prospects and current policyholders to generate interest in sales appointments. o Conduct needs based sales interviews in the agents office supported by technology (including Insurance and Financial Reviews). o Meet marketing goals set by the agent. o Provide prompt, accurate, friendly, cost-effective service and utilize it as a basis for establishing a marketing opportunity. As directed by the agent, work with agents computer system to update information in customer databases used by the agent. o Perform other related duties as assigned by the agent
