Job Summary:
YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT INSURANCE FOR THIS POSITION! We will train! Are you extremely organized, and able to multi task in a fast paced environment? Then YOU are the person we are looking for! We are growing and adding to our team in our downtown Moorhead office.

Job Description:
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer service. Answer inbound phone calls on a multi line phone system; screen and forward the calls accordingly.
  • Assist walk in clients with payments, billing inquiries, submitting claims, and policy changes.
  • After training, this role explains insurance coverages to clients, and makes changes to existing policies.
  • Help plan and assist with client appreciation events, such as Customer appreciation day at the movies every January.

Insurance license:
  • After 90 days of employment, our candidate will take an insurance license training course, and pass a test to get their insurance license. Study time is given during the work day, and all expenses are employer paid. In our 29 year history, we have never had a team member who didn't pass. In order to be issued an insurance license, the states of North Dakota and Minnesota run a criminal background check. Our applicant must meet the state requirements to become licensed.
Qualifications needed:
  • Must be able to pass the state insurance license background check.
  • Minimum of 2 years in customer service at a customer service counter, bank, office, retail store, restaurant is required.
  • We prefer a candidate who has had a supervisory role and has trained in new employees in their previous role.
  • Our candidate MUST be able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, basic Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills, problem-solving, and ability to maintain a customer-focused approach.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Experience with enforcing company policies and explaining those to customers is preferred.
  • Must have a true passion for customer service to succeed in this role. Key qualities: patience, compassion, and empathy.
Work Environment:
  • Full-time position. Monday to Friday 8:00 to 5:00pm for the first 6 months
  • Mon-Thursday 8:00-5:00 and Friday 8:00-2:00pm after 6 months experience and after licensed. Every other Friday, responds to voice mail and responds to clients from home until 5:00. (Laptop provided).
  • We offer amazing, hands on training by a team of 3 other professionals. We have training videos, hands on screen sharing and mentoring, and job aids for every task, making it easy to learn.
  • No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • This is an office-based role and will not become a remote position.
  • Work remotely on snow days.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary based on experience. The minimum salary for entry level is $47,500 and will increase based on relevant experience.

  • Every other Friday off from Memorial Day to Labor Day if our agency is on track for goals.
