Trident Consulting is currently seeking a Construction & Safety Manager for one of our industry leading clients
Job Title: Construction & Safety Manager Location: San Jose, CA (100% Onsite) Duration: 8 Months Contract (04/27/2026 – 12/26/2026) Pay Rate: $90/hr - $100/hr on W2(Inclusive all)
Position Overview The Construction & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing construction execution, safety compliance, and quality assurance for a $25M capital project involving retrofits, facility expansions, and cleanroom installations . This role requires full onsite presence to coordinate daily with contractors, EHS teams, and project stakeholders, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery. Key Responsibilities 1. Construction Management Oversee daily construction activities across project sites Manage general contractors, subcontractors, and workforce Ensure adherence to: Project specifications Engineering plans Construction procedures Monitor contractor productivity and efficiency Identify deviations and implement corrective actions 2. Safety Management (Critical Focus) Drive a zero-incident safety culture Partner with: EHS teams Safety managers Contractors Lead: Incident and near-miss investigations Root cause analysis Corrective action implementation and tracking Ensure proper reporting and closure of safety issues 3. Quality Assurance & Compliance Conduct quality inspections during and post-construction Ensure compliance with: Project specifications Customer requirements Regulatory standards Work closely with quality teams to resolve issues 4. Project Coordination & Execution Coordinate with project management teams on: Schedules Deliverables Milestones Review contractor schedules and progress Lead coordination meetings (safety, quality, progress updates) Provide regular updates to stakeholders 5. Change Management Manage change orders by: Reviewing contractor justifications Evaluating cost estimates Negotiating changes Collaborate with project stakeholders for approvals 6. Reporting & KPIs Track and report: Construction progress Safety metrics Labor hours Cost changes Deliver weekly/monthly reports to leadership 7. Permitting & Regulatory Coordination Support permitting processes Coordinate between: Engineers of record Local authorities (AHJ) Ensure all required inspections are completed 8. Contractor Onboarding & Team Support Support onboarding of contractors and crews Ensure compliance with: Safety standards Project procedures Facilitate cross-functional collaboration 9. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned Ensure smooth communication across all stakeholders Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in: Civil Engineering Construction Management Architecture OR related field (or equivalent experience) Experience 10+ years of construction management experience Strong experience in: Commercial construction Cleanroom construction ( MANDATORY/Highly Preferred ) Chemical production facility installation Must have California project experience Technical & Functional Skills Strong knowledge of: Construction methods and technologies Safety and quality standards Experience with: Risk assessments & mitigation planning Change management processes Contractor management Ability to: Interpret construction codes and standards: ASME ACI Building codes Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Certifications (Required/Preferred) OSHA 30 Certification (Required) First Aid & CPR Certification (Preferred) Core Competencies Leadership & team coordination Strong communication & presentation skills Conflict resolution & problem-solving Critical thinking & decision-making Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Work Environment 100% onsite construction environment Exposure to: Active construction sites Safety-sensitive environments Close collaboration with: Contractors EHS teams Engineers and stakeholders
