Leidos Defense Systems Mechanical Manufacturing Facility seeks a dedicated CMM Operator/Inspector to enhance our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that machined and assembled hardware meets stringent drawing and CAD model specifications using Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) and laser trackers. This position involves performing receiving inspections, calibrating standard inspection equipment, and setting up and measuring parts with standard measuring tools. You must thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment and be able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify mechanical parts and assembled hardware meet specifications.
Inspect structural and assembly hardware.
Provide inspection support as needed.
Conduct material verifications and calibrate standard inspection equipment.
Set up and measure parts using standard measuring tools.
Basic Qualifications:
A high school diploma/GED with 2-4 years of experience in CMM programming and inspection.
Demonstrated experience with standard measurement equipment like micrometers, calipers, multi-meters, height gauges, and gage blocks.
Proven ability to execute or witness inspection procedures.
Experience reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and 3-D solid models, along with preparing detailed inspection reports.
Ability to generate quality documentation including inspection FAI reports, bubble prints, Certificates of Conformance (C of C), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
Able to work full-time on a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday.
Must be a US Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain) a Final Secret Clearance.
Open to overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in inspecting complex aerospace hardware and dealing with non-conforming material.
Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems, AS5553 counterfeit prevention, and AS9102 first article inspection.
Experience with CMM systems such as Hexagon or Brown and Sharpe using PC-DMIS software is a plus.
Location: This position is based at our manufacturing facility. Regular attendance is required.
