Essential Job Duties: Answer telephone; Receive and enter requests from internal and external parties into Laboratory Information System Contacts clients for problem resolution Perform a variety of routine administrative tasks as it relates to pathology cases Troubleshoot and implement case corrections in Laboratory Information System Handle new account/client set up Maintain competency through web-based Standard Operating Procedure updates as well as educational modules Use automated lab equipment properly according to lab procedures and manufacturer's instructions Adheres to all PBM Safety policies and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies Learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices Protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times Ensure work area has proper coverage at all times during the work shift, ie coverage for meal and/or rest periods Immediately notifies supervisory personnel of malfunctioning instrumentation Handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, toxic chemicals and/or irritants appropriately and safely Perform other duties as assigned or requested Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent One or more years of previous general pathology laboratory experience preferred Demonstrated verbal and written command of the English language; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively Demonstrated ability to function as part of a team Ability to comply with HIPAA regulations Working knowledge of computer applications Demonstrated customer service focused skills Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a limited time frame
