Job Summary
The Chief Retail & Marketing Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of the bank’s retail network and marketing functions. This executive drives branch performance, customer experience, digital and in-person channels, and integrated marketing and brand strategies. The role accelerates growth, customer acquisition efforts, and expands brand presence across all markets, especially to support the bank’s national Non-QM lending platform. The role carries full P&L accountability and directly supports growth and profitability for the bank’s dual-market approach: national lending (Non-QM, CRE, Construction/Development) and locally sourced core deposits through the branch network.
What You Can Expect To Work On
Customer Acquisition – Non-QM Lending
Drive diversification, expansion, and optimization of acquisition channels for Non-QM lending, the bank’s highest priority growth engine.
Leverage digital targeting, referral partnerships, and scalable lead-generation platforms focused on qualified borrowers aligned with credit standards.
Deposit Strategy, Retention & Alternatives
Develop strategies to grow deposits, deepen relationships, and improve branch efficiency and profitability.
Oversee competitive, customer-centric retail product offerings.
Modernize the branch model to retain high-value customers and attract low-cost, relationship-driven core deposits.
Explore alternative funding channels, including digital or non-traditional sources, to supplement branch-based deposits at a competitive cost of funds.
Strategic Leadership & Execution
Design and execute a refreshed retail and marketing strategy aligned with enterprise goals.
Lead cross-functional initiatives in acquisition, brand visibility, funding cost optimization, and lead generation.
Align execution with strategic plans, measuring against key financial and operational benchmarks.
Marketing & Brand Strategy
Focus the Marketing team on fewer, higher-ROI campaigns.
Build a national brand centered on the bank’s culture and lending strengths, particularly in investment real estate.
Develop and refine strategies for SEO, paid media, content, referrals, partnerships, and digital platforms.
Retail Deposit Oversight
Lead all customer-facing retail operations across branches and digital channels.
Improve branch performance by enhancing service consistency, relationship depth, and operational efficiency.
Lending Channel Support
Collaborate with lending leaders to grow Non-QM and support construction/development loans through strategic borrower engagement.
Expand national loan volume of Non-QM lending via scalable digital platforms and high-quality referral sources.
Leadership
Strategic Vision & Execution: Deliver focused strategies aligned with measurable KPIs.
Team & Culture: Build high-performing teams, foster accountability, and promote a culture of innovation and discipline.
P&L Ownership: Manage the marketing and retail P&L with an emphasis on growth, efficiency, and disciplined investment.
