:Position SummaryThe inpatient pharmacy technician supports pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. The technician is responsible for packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records.M-F 12:30p-9p with occasional weekends 11:30-8p. Rotation to Roslindale if needed Mon-Fri 1:30p-10:00p.Position ResponsibilitiesPerforms all tasks for a Registered Pharmacy Technician as outlined in the Job Summary below, in addition to these tasks that are assigned to CPhT only:Responsible for a charge role for a key Pharmacy Department activity as determined by Pharmacy ManagementResponsible for leading a Process Improvement project each year and presenting at annual hospital-wide Quality Improvement Poster SessionPreparation - Accurate and timely preparation of medications which may include selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding, and sterile compounding. Ensures general cleanliness and appearance of the pharmacy areas.Distribution- Accurate and timely delivery of medications to the appropriate storage locations.Inventory- Maintains accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies. Accurately and timely completion of assigned inventory audits such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Regulatory compliance- Maintains a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Documents regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner. Participates in the monthly reviews of all medication care areas and reports back any violations.Communication and teamwork- Communicates with colleagues in an effective and positive manner. Demonstrates emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships. Attends and actively participates in team huddles and meetings. Assist with pharmacy staff and student training. Shares responsibility for accomplishment of the team's tasks and goals.Customer Service - Triaging telephone calls and assists hospital staff and vendors.Technology- Appropriately uses information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.Other duties as assigned or determined by the supervising pharmacist. Abides by all hospital and departmental policies.QualificationsMust possess & maintain the title of Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with a nationally recognized certificate from an accredited certifying body.Must possess & maintain registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.Remote TypeOn-siteHebrew SeniorLife is an equal opportunity employer.
