Job Summary

The Nurse Aide trainee (NAT) receives classroom and clinical training under the direct supervision of licensed clinical staff during the Nurse Aide Training Program. The NAT learns, applies and demonstrates all knowledge and skills learned during the Nurse Aide Training Program as directed and supervised by the Nurse Aide Training Program Coordinator and instructors. After successful completion of this training program, Nurse Aide Trainees will have the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the NYS Certified Nurse Aide Exam in order to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Nurse Aide Trainees provide direct and indirect care activities (under the direct supervision of the clinical supervisor) to assist residents/patients with activities of daily living.
