A Certified Nursing Assistant will provide essential care and support to residents, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a nurturing attitude, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.


Schedule: Full-time, NOC Shift (10pm-6am)


Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help residents with mobility, transferring, and positioning to ensure their safety and comfort.
  • Monitor residents’ vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Serve meals and assist residents with eating as needed, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring and supportive environment.
  • Assist with implementing individualized care plans under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in resident room and common areas.
  • Follow infection control procedures and maintain a sanitary environment to prevent the spread of illness.
  • Respond to resident calls and requests promptly and courteously.
  • Document care provided and observation accurately in residents’ medical records.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • CNA License required
  • At least 1 year of experience as a nurse assistant preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining resident confidentiality.
  • Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to work directly with residents.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, stretch, twist, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, equipment, or controls.
  • Stamina to stand and move about the facility to perform frequent rounds and respond to emergent situations as needed.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to cope with the physical and emotional demands of working with residents who may have complex healthcare needs.
  • Capability to lift and transfer residents safely, with proper body mechanics and assistance as needed.
  • Required vision includes close, vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
  • Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.
  • The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
