This position is supported by the Clinical Manager and Clinical Team.Job Standards:Follow/adhere to the Code of ConductFollow/adhere to organization, federal/state regulations and guidelines, including Resident RightsMaintain neatness, cleanliness, good personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of the departmentPerform duties of job without posing a threat to the health and safety of themselves or othersWill assume responsibility to ensure secure handling of information, and will adhere to HIPAA Privacy and Security standardsMaintain sound mental and physical health and strengthMust be free of communicable diseasesExhibit the Core Values of Messiah LifewaysRecognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization and attend training to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI workCarry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assignedLook for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organizationJob Duties/Responsibilities:Perform tasks related to personal hygiene and physical comfort of residents as required or requestedAssist with treatments and therapies under the direction of licensed personnel and according to departmental policyServe and assist residents with nourishments and feedingTransfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel or mechanical assistancePrepare and/or transport residents to and from activities, physician visits, therapy, beauty shop or other facilities, as directed during shift assignmentsObserve residents, charting and/or documenting physical conditions, attitudes and appetites, reporting changes or unusual findings to Staff NursesProperly use and care for Messiah Lifeways supplies and equipment in a cost effective mannerPerform cleaning tasks and keep work area neat and cleanFamiliar with equipment, storage locations and methods of set-upReport needed repairs and equipment failure to the Clinical Manager, Shift Supervisor or Staff NurseUtilize safety devices and follow safety precautionsFollow emergency procedures and respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and staffFollow proper procedures and promote safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environmentWork cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families and other employeesActively participates in orientation and training of new team membersWilling to work under direction and supervisionConfidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah LifewaysAdditional duties and tasks as assignedParticipate in identifying and honoring resident preferencesAssume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned duties and within his or her span of controlQualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:Sincere desire to work with individuals who may be frail and agedMust have sense of responsibility, moral integrity, good judgment, alertness and skill in recognizing and identifying symptoms and dealing with behavioral problemsEducation/Experience:Nursing Assistant training and current registration on the Nurse Aide Registry, meets requirements to maintain registrationFormal training or previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
