Job Requirements:

  • Marriott Bartender Experience is Preferred
  • Previous Food and Beverage experience required.
  • Two years previous Bartender experience in similar or greater setting required.
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication skills

Overview:

Our Bartender makes cocktails into an art. They use their creativity and expertise in cocktail concoction to make the guest experience brilliant. They continuously interact with the guests, making recommendations and sharing their knowledge on food and beverage items. They are detail oriented and multi-task while mingling with all the guests and create a fun and interactive environment for our guests to enjoy

Job Description:

  • Performs complete bar setup, including ice, garnish, glassware, etc.
  • Welcomes and greets all customers in the bar in an enthusiastic and timely manner.
  • Prepare coffee beverages and ensure that appliances (e.g., coffee makers) are turned on/off at the appropriate times. Clean expresso machine after each use (Steamer).
  • Ensures all customers ordering alcoholic beverages have proper I.D. and are over 21 years of age.
  • Be knowledgeable about the menu and recommend personal favorite food options.
  • Knows all drink recipes, wines, beers and differences in brands of liquor. Promote and up-sell drinks and special drink promotions.
  • Make personal connections by learning the guests' names, reason visiting the hotel and favorite drinks. Look for ways to delight the guests.
  • Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for Guests in the bar and dining room following standard recipes.
  • Practice portion controls using a portion control pourer.
  • Be alert of guest signals and acknowledge the guest to let them know the bartender will be right with them.
  • Ring drink orders into computer immediately, and place current bar tabs in front of guests at all times
  • Assumes responsibility for guest checks, cash register procedures, and completion of daily sales reconciliation report.
  • Must adhere to all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to the serving of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests, ensuring all laws are followed.
  • Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks.
  • Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked at all times.
  • Completes assigned side work and performs other duties as instructed by the Manager.
  • Maintains an individually issued bank and is responsible for all overage or shortage of cash.
  • Practices “clean as you go” techniques of service for the bar area.
  • Follow proper closing procedures. Lock up and store beverages.
  • Complete end of shift paperwork, get checked out by management.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment including
    • Safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines
    • Follow Hazardous Material Management Program
    • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE)
    • Use the Lockout/Tag-out system before performing any maintenance work.
    • Use correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.

 

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.

Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

  • Display Brilliant Hosting by performing the following with all guest interactions:
    • Acknowledge Guest within 15 feet, smile and greet guests within 5 feet.
    • When handling a guest concern, use the LEARN process by Listening, Empathizing, Apologizing, Reacting and Notifying.
    • Engage in rapport building conversations with guests, looking for ways to anticipate their needs and delight them.
  • Thank guests and make a positive last impression

Physical Tasks of the Role:

  • Stand, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, reach and kneel, and have the ability to lift and carry full trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
