The River Club of Mequon is owned and operated by Heritage Golf Group a national owner and operator of premier private, resort, restaurant, and daily fee golf clubs. River Club of Mequon(www.riverclubofmequon.com) is the premier private Country Club established in 1963 and is in the northern suburb of Milwaukee, Mequon. The Club overlooks the beautiful southeastern Wisconsin scenery. It has established itself as a premier destination for golf, tennis, swimming, dining, and family fun.
Position Overview:
The Banquet Manager is responsible for the management of the service in the manner most pleasing to members and guests, assuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of the event facility. The Banquet Manager is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining banquet staff. This position reports to the F&B Director and directly manages F&B banquet servers and bartenders.
Day to Day:
Creates an environment establishing the highest standards of quality service and ensures implementation through effective hiring, training, developing, promoting, and continuous positive reinforcement
Schedule banquet service personnel and budget labor costs, making necessary staffing adjustments as changes occur in the banquet department
Monitor and track BEOs and the flow of information from catering, sales, and culinary departments, while distributing information consistently to your hourly team members
Prepare for and conduct pre-shifts/line-up meetings sets the pace and motivates staff daily to exceed client expectations.
Oversee and ensure proper storage of equipment, as well as the maintenance and inventory of china/glassware/silverware/small wares for the banquet department.
Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive attitude, and professional appearance
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
Must stay updated on new food and wine trends
Developing, maintaining, and executing all the policies, procedures, and quality standards within the department
Qualifications:
2 - 4 years experience as a Banquet Director or supervisory-related field in the Food & Beverage Industry in a Hotel / Restaurant / Resort / Country Club
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Bachelors Degree preferred
Computer literacy is required, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and Event Management Software
