ATTENTION CANDIDATES: Please apply for this position in-person at the Niagara Falls Convention Center (101 Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY) Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Job Summary:
The Banquet Line Cook is responsible for the preparation and presentation of menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced kitchen that supports large scale banquet events. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste and sanitation are additional areas that the Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.
Essential Duties (including to but not limited to):
•Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until delivered.
•Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests.
•Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served.
•Responsible for cleaning, stocking and restocking workstations and displays.
•Working Action Stations in front of and interacting with guests
•Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, griddles, deep-fat fryers and ovens.
•Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away
•Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
•Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
Qualifications:
•Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
•Ability to stand for long hours, making simple, repeated movements
•Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
•Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
•Flexible night and weekends hours required
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
•2-3 years of experience working including banquet specific cooking
