Assistant/Associate/Professor-In-Residence of Clinical Sciences (Endodontics)

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate/Professor-In-Residence of Clinical Sciences (Endodontics), School of Dental Medicine.

Role of the Position

The School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Faculty-In-Residence of Clinical Sciences. Responsibilities include management of the pre-doctoral endodontic curriculum, including pre-clinical and clinical endodontic courses; and supervision and delivery of patient care both in a general dentistry clinical environment and specialty clinic. Academic and clinical support for Advanced Education programs in General Practice Residency, Pediatric Dentistry, and Orthodontics is required. Opportunity for intramural faculty practice/extramural private practice is available.

Profile of the Department/College

UNLV School of Dental Medicine, the only accredited dental school in Nevada, opened its doors during fall 2002 offering a doctor of dental medicine degree to an initial cohort of 75 students. Today, the school receives more than 1,800 applications for an available 82 seats within its pre-doctoral program; offers eight academic degree and advanced education certificate programs; conducts biomedical research within 4,000 square feet of laboratory space; hosts continuing education classes to industry professionals; leads multiple community outreach programs; and has more than 70,000 patient visits per year.

The School of Dental Medicine's education programs are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and have maintained that status since 2002.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Completion of specialty program in Endodontics from a CODA approved dental school. Must be eligible for licensure in Nevada.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of experience in a dental teaching environment and Board certification in Endodontics is highly desirable.
