Overview: Job Duties & Responsibilities Experience
Hires and builds strong teams by partnering closely with the Executive Director or Common Purpose Director to create targeted hiring strategies to actively recruit within the community and ensure the team reflects the communities it serves.
Follows standard operating procedures around performance management when handling teammate discipline, appraisals, performance concerns, and making recommendations regarding termination and advancement of teammates.
Manages teams in assigned departments (Apparel, Footwear, and Hardlines) and has a dotted line responsibility for managing teammates in other areas of the store when serving as Head Coach or MOD.
Leads through coaching and development by providing in-the-moment coaching, creating space for leaders to identify opportunities, and facilitating actionable solutions.
Acts as a point of contact for implementing training initiatives, conducting one-on-one teammate conversations, facilitating training workshops, and role play exercises to ensure all teammates meet the needs of the athlete.
Partners with peers to deliver a great Athlete experience in specialized areas such as Rockwall, MultiSport Cage, Social Fitting Room, Golf Services, etc.
Service
Uses financial and operational tools (e.g., Medallia, Peak Weeks, Intera) to analyze business trends and leverage insights for strategic planning; controls expenses and drives sales to maximize ROI.
Builds effective schedules using Legion guidelines, workload planner, and budget to serve the Athlete effectively.
Communicates the company's vision and provides direction to teammates, aligning their responsibilities with the organization’s purpose and goals.
Empowers teammates to identify challenges, conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot solutions, and understand the rationale behind actions.
Responsible for meeting sales and profit budgets, including all P&L categories and overall store results.
Community
Creates opportunities for community involvement through events, volunteer support, etc.
Actively recruits within the community to ensure the store’s team reflects local demographics.
Gains a deep understanding of industry and competitor trends to better serve the Athlete.
Supports Experience and Community Teams with in-store events.
Product
Ensures key strategies from CSC partners are executed correctly throughout the product lifecycle to drive sales.
Oversees planning, scheduling, and execution of seasonal Gameplan sets in assigned departments.
Regularly walks the store to maintain visual standards, identify opportunities based on sales trends, and react quickly with teammates.
Educates and empowers the team to be product and operational experts, celebrating achievements and contributions.
Leadership
Drives the store’s financial performance by implementing strategies to improve sales, expenses, and store contribution.
Prioritizes training, coaching, and development, fostering a high-energy, accountable, and inclusive environment.
Builds development plans in partnership with teammates and makes recommendations regarding their career progression.
Maintains a people-first culture by building trust, respect, and a welcoming environment for all teammates and athletes.
Leads, directs, and develops a large workforce.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1-3 years of experience
1-3 years of retail management or customer-focused experience
Depending on the location, relevant state-mandated clearances may be required to supervise minors.
