Overview Job Title: Assistant Store Manager (Production Manager)

What You’ll Be Working On
Responsible for the overall management and direction of the production process, along with leadership of the team, in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
Direct responsibility for specific departments spanning both the production room and the sales floor.
Ensure the store puts out the right items at the right price and at the right time through accurate pricing, shop-able racks, full merchandise utilization, seasonal backstock, efficient workflow and productive work pace.
Provide quality control, observe, coach, and counsel performance, and set the pace of work.
Guide the store by Savers vision and Core Values.
Store Performance
Ensure store performance meets financial targets and key metrics based on annual and quarterly operating plans.
Continually monitor and set the pace of work.
Analyze local market potential, key metrics, and observations to inform actions.
Maintain a positive customer/donor experience by inspecting the sales floor for shop-ability and interaction quality.
Leadership and Development
Lead, direct and supervise the work of supervisors and production team members.
Plan staffing needs and coordinate recruitment, selection and training.
Regularly observe, assess, coach and counsel staff; develop high-potential team members.
Maintain a respectful, values-driven workplace and use open communication to turn input into action.
Fulfill manager on duty responsibilities and oversee the store as acting manager when assigned.
Customer/Donor Service
Respond to customer/donor questions, requests and complaints with a positive, service-oriented approach.
Train and coach team members to meet service expectations; seek feedback to drive improvements.
Assist donors per Company standards and support promotions or programs as required.
Consistent Production
Manage item put-out condition and volume, production margins, and pricing strategies; ensure sellable items are available to customers.
Plan, schedule, assign, and direct work to achieve sales, service, production, labor efficiency, and profit objectives.
Oversee quality control checks across production stages; lead morning maintenance to prepare the sales floor.
Collaborate with the Community Donation Manager/Retail Sales Manager on flow and process; ensure accuracy of daily stock-on-hand (SOH).
Loss Prevention and Safety
Protect company assets and information with safe handling and security procedures.
Promote loss prevention awareness and maintain a safe work environment; support safety committee processes.
Oversee certification processes for equipment as required.
What You Have
Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to observe, assess, and coach team members; apply common sense to instructions.
Ability to reason, make decisions, and use independent judgment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum Required Education, Training And Experience
High School diploma; post-secondary degree/diploma preferred.
Results-driven retail store management or industrial management experience.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry items; occasional heavy lifting as described in the original posting.
Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting; occasional kneeling.
Ability to read, hear, and communicate effectively; handle hazardous machinery and hazardous materials as applicable.
Work schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
