Signature Homes is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager in our Birmingham, AL market. The primary objective of this role is to contribute substantial value to the company by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of budgets and purchase orders. Additionally, promptly resolving variance purchase orders in the field by conducting root-cause analyses and implementing necessary corrections. Leveraging field knowledge to facilitate improvements and adjustments during pre-construction phases is also a key focus.

Job Responsibilities: Pre - Construction: Oversee the pre-construction schedule to guarantee construction starts align with corporate timelines. Conduct pre-con processes to ensure accurate vendor setup and provide clear scope of work briefings. Collaborate with the Product Development team to enhance efficiency and constructability.
Post – Construction: Manage the soft cycle process to ensure the achievement of proforma starts. Review lot conditions and ensure accurate purchase orders for associated costs. Issue precise and timely purchase orders for all project costs, including updates to previously issued orders. Proactively manage materials and submit variance purchase orders as required. Make updates to budgets, takeoff methodology, and open purchase orders as necessary.
Skills and Experience: Required: High school diploma or GED. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Prior experience in residential construction. Exceptional organizational skills. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in building sciences or construction management. 2+ years’ experience in Project Management or Purchasing Department, residential preferred. Experience in residential construction takeoffs and estimating. Proficiency in the following software: Bluebeam Newstar Planswift Procore This person should maintain a positive and professional working relationship with customers, sub-contractors, and coworkers with a constant commitment of teamwork and exemplary customer service.
