Assistant Project Manager - Public Works Construction

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support day-to-day project operations on large-scale Public Works construction projects. This role offers exposure to all phases of construction—from preconstruction through closeout—and is ideal for professionals looking to grow their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities: Preconstruction Support Assist with estimating and budgeting efforts Help prepare preliminary schedules and evaluate subcontractor proposals
Contract & Documentation Management Understand and distribute all Contract Documents to appropriate project stakeholders Maintain accurate and well-organized project records and documentation
Coordination & Technical Support Support mechanical/electrical system coordination with BIM teams Assist with constructability reviews and spatial coordination efforts
Project Controls Maintain project directories, logs, and reports in alignment with internal standards Assemble and update as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle Support document control protocols and ensure up-to-date working sets are maintained on-site
Scheduling & Communication Assist with developing and updating detailed project schedules in collaboration with the field and project teams Track and manage submittals, RFIs, and procurement activities Ensure timely and accurate communication across stakeholders
Project Closeout Assist in compiling and submitting closeout documentation as directed
Other Duties as Assigned
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field 3+ years of experience supporting commercial construction projects from start to finish Proficiency in construction documentation and scheduling tools Strong organizational and communication skills
