Assistant Project Manager – Glass
Omni Glass & Paint is hiring a full-time Assistant Project Manager to join our construction team. Since 1967, Omni has built a reputation for quality and reliability across Wisconsin, completing thousands of successful projects. From hospitals and schools to office buildings and custom homes, we're proud of the work we do-and the people who make it possible. If you're ready to join a company that values innovation, teamwork, and career growth, we want to meet you.
This is a full-time position based in Wausau, WI, with competitive pay, excellent benefits, and long-term advancement potential. You'll work closely with experienced project managers and learn the ins and outs of construction project coordination in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll help coordinate all phases of a construction project-from pre-construction planning through final completion. You'll assist in managing labor, materials, scheduling, and documentation. You'll read blueprints, prepare bids, track change orders, communicate with clients and contractors, and ensure projects stay on time and on budget. You'll also help with subcontract management, quality control, and compliance with safety and industry standards. This is a dynamic, detail-oriented role that offers real growth for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction.
What You'll Need
To succeed in this role, you'll need strong organizational skills, the ability to read and understand architectural drawings, and experience in contract management and negotiation. Prior construction or project management experience is preferred-especially in the glass and glazing industry-but we're willing to train a motivated candidate with the right attitude. An associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or a related field is a plus. You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), communicating with clients and teams, and handling multiple priorities at once. This role may require occasional overtime based on project needs.
