Assistant Manager Retail

Responsibilities:
- Works with the Retail Manager to create Sales goals, create and refine department SOPs, and ensure compliance training of all team members is up to date.
- Leads the team in achieving sales goals: leads by example and works along-side store team while modeling and implementing Service and Selling expectations.
- Provides coaching and mentorship to optimize productivity and increase sales; ensures team performance is consistently on target to maintain an elevated guest experience and a team that drives positive performance results.
- Recruits, hires, and trains top-level talent to excel in a service and selling environment; Conducts performance evaluations to assess training needs, build career paths; and maintain growth for a strong future of succession planning.
- Responsible for management and execution of special events to enhance brand loyalty
- Schedules to needs of business operations; publishes schedules in designated time-frame.
- Professionally and courteously responds to team member and guest requests; diffuses guest concerns or issues as needed to uphold guest experience, and escalates issues of heightened concern.
- Assists the Retail Manager with any tasks needed throughout the day and in their absence. When the Retail Manager is unavailable, the Retail Assistant Manager acts as the department head.
- Coordinates with the Retail Supervisor regularly to ensure stock levels are maintained
- Provides outstanding guest service to all gift shop guests and team members
- Monitors cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the gift shop
- Addresses all guest questions, requests, complaints or problems
- Maintains confidentiality of guest information and pertinent property data
- Remains knowledgeable at all times of all property features, services, and hours of operation
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must obtain a TAM/Alcohol Awareness Card.
- Minimum one to three (1-3) years' experience performing same or similar job functions with minimum one (1) year in a management or supervisory capacity required.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal and ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management.
- Exceptional organization, strategic planning, and leadership skills.
- Outstanding guest service skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with all departments and areas.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
- Must be comfortable working and speaking with the public.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point essential.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers)
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful situations.
Physical Requirements / Working conditions - Environment:
- Work may require travel to attend meetings and conferences.
- Must be able to work well in a fast paced, multi-tasking, detail-oriented environment.
- Available to work flexible hours, as needed, including early mornings, overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.
- Primary work environment is in a climate- controlled retail setting inside a casino.
- The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
- Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, and over the telephone.
- Eye/hand coordination.
- Use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
