While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required. Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ancillary Assistant to support our team in the Department of Imaging.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Contacts patients to schedule their CT, MRI, PET/CT appointments at PCI.
Confirm appointment details and answer patient questions regarding procedures.
Provide exam preparation instructions and general imaging education to patients and referring clinical staff.
Confirm pre-authorizations for scheduled exams.
Process and manage high-modality imaging orders (CT, MRI, PET/CT).
Verify ACR Select–CDS references for clinical decision support.
Research and obtain prior imaging exams for comparison purposes.
Coordinate the transfer and review of relevant imaging records.
Educate patients on high-deductible plans and potential financial responsibilities.
Collect and process insurance co-pays at the time of service.
Requirements:

Excellent communication skills are essential.
Candidates must be or become proficient in the use of computer systems, including electronic medical records (EMR).
Prior experience in a radiology office setting preferred; R.I.S. software and previous P.A.C.S. experience helpful.
