8 Days Old
Job Description
The Position: ACT/SAT Tutor & School Programs Teacher (Part-Time)
Compensation: $30/hour for 1-on-1 tutoring; $47/hour for classroom instruction
Academic Approach is firmly committed to creating a diverse workplace and is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, genetics, marital status, amnesty status, or veteran status. Applicants of diverse backgrounds, skillsets, and experiences are especially encouraged to apply.
About Academic Approach:
Academic Approach began with a focused mission: to mentor students while building their key academic skills. Join our team of dedicated educators to deliver rewarding, highly personalized, high-impact 1-on-1 and classroom course instruction.
About the Role:
While many of our 1-on-1 tutoring students and school partners prefer to work virtually, we are currently looking exclusively for candidates who are willing to tutor in-person at our Lincoln Park and/or Winnetka offices and/or teach in-person on the campuses of our partner schools. Please note that this is not a full-time position, and it will not be a good fit for those seeking full-time work; while average hours per week vary drastically from instructor to instructor, most of our instructors average 8-12 instructional hours per week.
At this juncture, we are looking for new tutors/teachers to add to our team for the 2025-26 school year. If you are unable to commit to at least one full school year, we kindly ask that you not apply.
About our Content Quiz:
Please note that--due to the nature of this tutor/instructor position--all candidates will need to complete a content quiz that includes English and math questions prior to being considered for an interview. This (untimed) quiz should take approximately 30-45 mins to complete.
About our Training:
We believe strongly in our robust training. Our training modules are each a combination of synchronous sessions with a trainer and asynchronous work. We identify each candidate's best pathway through our trainings and send personalized invitations to training that include more details. All trainings are paid.
A Successful Academic Approach Tutor & School Programs Teacher:

What we offer:

- Please note that this compensation is specifically for instructional time only.
- Flexibility in building your schedule while supporting the needs of our students.
- Robust (paid) training.
- Personalized coaching and development, support, and continuing education.
- Exceptional proprietary curriculum and instructional materials.
