PRINCIPAL DUTIES Essential Job Duties: Assist in planning and coordinating activities, including reality orientation, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outings, special events, and one-on-one visits. Help prepare and distribute the monthly calendar and newsletter. Assist in purchasing supplies for activities as needed. Distribute mail to residents daily. Direct the movement of residents to and from recreational areas. Announce scheduled activities over the intercom at least fifteen minutes prior to the activity. Coordinate and supervise volunteer activities, including training and support. Maintain accurate documentation of resident activity attendance. Plan and coordinate activities in the absence of the Activity Coordinator. Other Duties: Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned. Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. HOSPITALITY FOCUS

QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma required. One year of experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed healthcare setting preferred. Background in music, art, drama, or dance therapy preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting for approximately 60% of the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to push residents weighing up to 250 lbs. in gerichairs and/or wheelchairs. Must be able to read, speak English, hear, and sit/walk intermittently throughout the day. May be exposed to communicable diseases, chemicals, offensive odors, and combative behavior.
