Overview

: Warehouse worker in La Porte, Indiana, processing returned books. Work with computer system and scanners to process credits to customers. Collect product from conveyor line, sort, and put in designated locations. Company Paid Benefits: Life, AD & D, short term disability, long term disability Traditional 401k and Roth 401k Benefits start 1st day of Hire, no waiting period 10 paid Holidays: starts with 1st holiday paid following hire, no waiting period Responsibilities Use scanners and computer systems Quality check each unit for damage Stack product on pallet in usable format or pattern Re-palletize cartons on pallets Use manifest sheet to put product away within 24 hrs. of receipt Verify price and quantity by product Use a pallet jack Use RF Scanner Pack product in cartons for distribution Obey all safety and housekeeping rules Cleaning area on a regular basis, sweeping and dusting Must be available for overtime as needed Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the department supervisor or warehouse manager Qualifications Possess the capability of reading and comprehending instructions/procedures. Must have good communication skills. Must be capable of standing all day and lifting up to 50 pounds Must be able to use pallet jack to move pallets up to 600lbs Use ladder or stool to and reach overhead Good organizational and Math skills Computer literate, prefer knowledge of AS400 Must be 18 years of age Physical Demands Standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, crouching, grasping, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, making hearing protection optional but not required Hearing is necessary due to the automated equipment used (horn honking required to notify pedestrians that vehicles are near)
