Responsibilities
Harper College Continuing Professional Education (CPE) seeks a dynamic and dedicated Dental Assisting instructor. Dental Assisting is a 60-hour training program designed to prepare students for entry-level dental assisting positions and provide a strong foundation for further study in the dental field. The qualified candidate will design, create, and maintain the Dental Assisting Program. Must be up-to-date with industry standards, develop a course syllabus, formulate presentations, deliver lectures and dialogue to prepare students to sit for certification exams. Will guide students through essential topics such as chairside assisting, infection control, radiology, and dental office operations. Will be required to measure students' performance and keep students informed of their progress as appropriate. Will submit midterm and final grades in a timely manner as instructed each semester. Some professional development training will be required to maintain active status as an instructor.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Experience teaching adults is preferred and 2+ years' experience in the field. Extensive knowledge with dental assisting, and strong verbal and written skills required. Licensed Dental Hygienist credentials are optional but welcomed.
