Job Summary:
We are seeking a Vice President to join our Affordable Multifamily team in our Garden City, NY location that services a portfolio in excess of $4 billion in assets. Our portfolio consists of 285+ multifamily affordable housing properties primarily financed with tax exempt bonds. The ideal candidate will have experience in special servicing and/or asset management, strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, an understanding of the lending industry and the ability to provide excellent customer service to our clients and investors. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with special servicing requests and monitoring the portfolio.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Perform a variety of Loan Servicing functions including:
- Analyze, process and manage borrower consent requests, including but not limited to subordinate debt approval, loan modifications, ownership transfers and loan assumptions, easements, maturity extensions, redemptions and loan payoffs, completion/stabilization date extensions, etc.
- Prepare and submit consent packages for investor approval and manage the full consent process.
- Review and analyze legal documentation, including bond documents and servicing agreements.
- Oversee annual insurance compliance reviews and analyze waiver requests.
- Prepare/Review Excel data tapes and asset summary reports for investor securitizations
- Oversee investor reporting, including CREFC reporting packages and the further development of investor reporting platform
- Auditing the onboarding of new loans into the servicing system.
- Oversee and manage insurance losses, manage proceeds, and monitor property restorations.
- Work collaboratively to achieve department and firm objectives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The candidate should possess strong financial, analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities. Self-motivated, solution focused and detail-oriented individual. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required with a firm command of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or other related field
- Multifamily real estate experience, preferably in Servicing and/or Asset Management
- Minimum of 5-10 years of industry and/or relevant experience
- Knowledge of commercial real estate finance, servicing operations and multifamily agency experience (Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae) is a plus
- Experience with CREFC Investor reporting is a plus
