US Retail Renewal Lead

This role is critical to NIQ's success as it drives the retention and growth of our US retail clients. The focus is on understanding why our clients share data with NIQ, what they value in return and how we can expand those partnerships in a way that is aligned to NIQ’s Retail strategy. This role contributes to driving strategy, building commercial constructs and leading a negotiation approach yielding improved renewal outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you must have strong negotiation skills, financial acumen, communication skills and a tenacious appetite to deliver favorable outcomes.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage the Renewal Health Tracker to identify and mitigate risks and liabilities ahead of renewals
Plan renewal opportunities in advance to set goals and objectives
Drive commercial strategy throughout renewals or Request for Proposals (RFPs)
Lead the analysis and preparation of the deal construct for Renewals, specifically price strategy, terms, and special provisions
Partner with pricing experts to guide the internal process of pricing solutions for customer deals
Ensure deals are accurate, timely and can best deliver against the strategy developed
Consult internal teams regarding the deal generation, financial drivers and negotiation tactics
Collaborate internally with cross-functional teams to align the strategy & win themes (Product, Ops, Commercial, Sales, Analytics)
Exercise humility in listening to others’ opinions to ensure all ideas are considered
Effectively challenge and influence internal teams as needed to drive the best result
Develop client-friendly documents for pitches that succinctly position proposals against the aligned win themes
Review and interpret contract terms and conditions
Negotiate agreements directly with customers and other stakeholders
Collaborate with legal team to draft contracts, ensuring inclusion of most current legal language
Contribute to gathering best-demonstrated practices to leverage in future deals
Qualifications
Clear and concise communication skills to effectively engage with NIQ colleagues and clients
Skilled at motivating others to work toward a specific vision
Self-starter, extremely motivated to achieve outcomes on firm, tight deadlines
Familiarity across NielsenIQ solutions, tools, and applications
Excellent negotiation skills and confidence with articulating a strong deal position
Proven experience demonstrating strategic thinking & creativity
Ability to analyze and interpret complex information and contracts
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Effective listening skills
Ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation of the following range: $92,000 -$125,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a sales-based incentive or performance-based bonus.
