About the Position
Job Opportunity – Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit RN – North Carolina
Start Date: May 4, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week; every other weekend required (5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period)
Highlights:
- 13 to 26-week contract assignments available
- Progressive care unit specializing in cardiac monitoring with telemetry capabilities
- Patient ratio of 1:6-7; 24 hours of unit orientation provided
- Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing
- Self-scheduling per unit needs; floating may be required based on census
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and more
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown nursing experience required
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote cardiac monitoring
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care, including sheath removal
- Competency in accessing ports, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
- Ability to titrate cardiac drips including Diltiazem and Amiodarone
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to assignment start
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
