Cath Lab RN – Job Summary
Unit: Cath Lab (2 Labs)
Role: RN – Must be able to scrub
Workload
- Cases per day: ~5–10
- Procedures include:
- Left & Right Heart Caths
- PCI
- IABP, Impella
- Temporary Pacemakers
- TCAR, EVAR
- EKOS
- AIF, IVC Filters
- Infusaports, Permacaths
- Vascular procedures (venograms, filters)
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS & ACLS (Required)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year Cath Lab or Rad Tech experience
- Scrubbing experience required
- Preferred: EKOS experience (training available)
️ Duties
- RNs: Circulate, administer sedation, documentation
- Rad Techs: Scrub & assist physician, maintain sterile technique
Equipment / EMR
- Siemens systems & equipment
⏰ Schedule & Call
- Schedule: 5 days/week (hours vary based on cases)
- On-Call:
- 1 full week per 4-week schedule (Mon 7 AM – next Mon 7 AM)
- Can split call days
- Weekend Call: Fri after hours → Mon 7 AM
- Holiday Call: Rotational
- Response Time: 30 minutes
- On-call: 24/7 cardiologist coverage

- Director, Coordinator, Charge Nurse
- Supported by Cath Lab Techs (Rad Techs)
