Job Description

At Southall, our goal is to create experiences that are as restorative and inspiring as the land around us. Our Tea Server plays a key role in delivering that experience—guiding guests through our thoughtfully curated tea service while showcasing the connection between fresh botanicals and the cup in front of them. This role blends gracious hospitality, deep product knowledge, and attention to detail to create a serene, memorable, and personalized tea experience for every guest.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide an immersive tea service by sharing knowledge about our tea offerings, including origins, preparation methods, and pairings with Southall’s fresh, seasonal fare.

  • Guide guests through the tea menu, making thoughtful recommendations based on preferences and seasonal availability.

  • Prepare and serve teas with precision, following established presentation standards and timing.

  • Communicate any guest requests, preferences, or dietary needs to the appropriate team members to ensure an exceptional experience.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service, anticipating needs and responding promptly to requests.

  • Adapt the pace and style of service to suit each guest, from quiet reflection to engaging conversation.

  • Accurately process guest checks, handle cash and credit card payments, and follow procedures for voided or complimentary items.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of tea service areas, including brewing equipment, tables, and display areas.

  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and restocking for tea service, including special tea events.

  • Support other Food & Beverage operations when needed during high volume or special events.

Skills & Experience:

  • Prior hospitality, restaurant, or beverage service experience preferred; tea knowledge or certification is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and an engaging, guest-focused demeanor.

  • Attention to detail in service presentation and guest interaction.

  • Ability to remain composed and professional in a high-volume environment.

Education & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods.

  • Comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
