Job Description:
The IT Lab Assistant provides first-level technical support and general maintenance for campus computer labs. This role supports students, faculty, and staff by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting with IT-related services.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor assigned campus computer labs for hardware and software issues.
Conduct periodic checks of student computer labs and classrooms
Maintain printers, including refilling paper and toner supplies.
Keep lab areas organized and free of clutter.
Post and report any "Out of Order" signs or unresolved technical problems.
Provide first-level support for common IT issues, including:
Network logins
Email access
Internet connectivity
Blackboard and Web Advisor
Wireless configuration for mobile devices
Log and track all inquiries received via phone or in-person walk-ins.
Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT Services staff.
Assist IT Services personnel with general tasks and technical support.
Perform scanning, printing, and other basic office duties.
Manage and track items available for checkout.
Continue developing technical and computer skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Strong interest and aptitude in using computers in an office environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Dependable, organized, courteous, and patient in interactions with others.
