Job Title: Specialty Pharmacy TechnicianDepartment: Pharmacy | OncologyLocation: Geneva Destination CampusHours Per Week: 40 HoursSchedule: Monday-Friday, Day ShiftSUMMARY:The Pharmacy Technician - Specialist assists Pharmacists in pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record keeping functions in the delivery of pharmaceutical supplies to patients of all ages in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. The PhT Specialist works in a specialized area of Pharmacy (i.e. IV room, Narcotic Vault, or OR setting) and provides advanced knowledge and experience to that area of practice.Located in Geneva, NY, the Geneva Medical Campus is the newest addition to Rochester Regional Health's growing presence in the eastern region. Opening September 15, the campus will serve as a central hub for high-quality, patient-focused care in the Finger Lakes-just minutes from downtown Geneva, Seneca Lake, and Hobart and William Smith College. RESPONSIBILITIES:Medication Management. Properly operate the ADMs (Automatic Dispensing Machines); prepack bulk medication and repackage into individual size packaging; prepare all medications in a sterile and clean environment; fill and document patient orders; properly dispose of medication.Documentation & Reporting. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using EMR system (Electronic Medical Record); use pharmacy information system to run reports and access medication data; receive and store incoming supplies and verify quantities.Maintenance & Sterilization.
